Bruce's Story...

Bruce is an approximately one year old, male Golden Retriever/ German Shepherd mix who came to us from an Animal Control facility in rural Illinois.  Bruce was discovered hanging around a construction site- apparently looking for companionship and a crust of bread.  He spent the whole day in the presence of the construction workers and was still there at the end of the work day. The workers decided that they had better do something about the poor fellow and called the dog warden. Bruce is very friendly, energetic and gentle. He loves to kiss and wants nothing more than to have his chest rubbed.  He is also well behaved, house trained, knows ‘sit’ and ‘lay down,’ plus he is good with other dogs.  Bruce is a charmer and is also very smart and will learn more skills and commands easily. This amber eyed fellow weighs 59 pounds. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm and fecal checked, dewormed, and is on flea /tick and heartworm preventatives. We do have a document that says his birthday is 09/27/10. Bruce's minimum adoption donation is $195.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bruce, a Bloomington Golden Retriever/German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever/German Shepherd Dog for sale in Bloomington, or seeking a Golden Retriever/German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Bloomington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bloomington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bloomington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever/German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with Golden Retriever/German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bloomington paves the way for another one to be saved.
