Hickory's Story...

Hickory is a handsome, one year old male, tricolor Treeing Walker Coonhound. Like many hounds, he's a goofy, happy boy who loves people, kids and other dogs.  He's curious about cats and is learning to get along with them as well.  Hickory is doing great with his housetraining and crate training, which is quite an accomplishment for a guy who lived on his own.  Hickory came to us from a high kill shelter where he was found as a stray.  He's glad to be in a home now, though, and if you offer him a forever home he'll make a wonderful best friend!  Hickory would love an active household with plenty of love and attention.  Hickory’s minimum adoption donation is $195.  He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, fecal checked, dewormed, and is on flea /tick preventatives.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hickory, a Bloomington Treeing Walker Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Treeing Walker Coonhound for sale in Bloomington, or seeking a Treeing Walker Coonhound dog from a breeder in Bloomington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bloomington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bloomington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Treeing Walker Coonhound breeders who help with Treeing Walker Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bloomington paves the way for another one to be saved.
