Brodie's Story...

Brodie is a 10 month old, female, white and tan Pekingese who weighs about 12 pounds. Sadly, she had been kept in crate her entire life. Once her owner had her fill of Brodie, she dropped at her parent’s house and never came back for her. Brodie's foster mom told us this: 'Brodie is learning about life outside of the crate. She is a playful pup and is full of energy.  She is smart and has learned basic commands very quickly and is trying to conquer her fears of noise, motion, and steps. Considering the life she has led these fears are not at all surprising. She rarely barks and doesn't jump on furniture. She likes a lap to lay on and enjoys (perhaps for the first time) the pleasures of a good belly rub. She is very playful and energetic with lots of puppy still in her- likes all toys.. stuffed animals, balls, etc.  Brodie does need some leash training and nearly there on housetraining.  Brodie is looking for that special someone who is patient while she gains confidence and overcomes her fears. Brody is a sweet girl who loves attention and play time. She has a vibrant personality and is also loving. She likes to stare in your eyes as well as stare in the mirror at herself. ' She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm and fecal checked, dewormed, and is on flea /tick and heartworm preventatives.  Minimum adoption donation $295.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Brodie, a Bloomington Pekingese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pekingese for sale in Bloomington, or seeking a Pekingese dog from a breeder in Bloomington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bloomington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bloomington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pekingese breeders who help with Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bloomington paves the way for another one to be saved.
