Chica's Story...

Meet Chica, an adorable 5 year old female chihuahua mix.  Chica came to us when she was found as a stray and no one came to claim her.  She is a very friendly little girl who just wants a family all her own. Her foster mom told us this about Chica: 'She is a sweet girl and is no trouble at all.  Chica is housetrained and does well in her crate. She would be a great family dog. She is good with cats and children, but she would probably do best in a home with no very young children. Chica loves to have a fluffy blanket to lay on or under. She also seems to like car rides since every time we go out she heads for the van. Although she is fine on a leash she really doesn't want to walk very far. Instead Chica prefers hanging out with a favorite person and just being close. Because of this she may be best suited for someone who is home a lot. She is a real sweetheart.' Chica has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm and fecal checked, dewormed, and is on flea /tick and heartworm preventatives.  Minimum adoption donation $100.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chica, a Bloomington Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Bloomington, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Bloomington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bloomington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bloomington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bloomington paves the way for another one to be saved.
