I am already neutered, up to date with shots, and declawed.

Sonny's Story...
I am very shy and wary until I get to know you, so give me time in a safe place, like my crate, to settle into my surroundings. Once I get used to my new home, you will find that I am sweet and love to be with you. My fur is so sleek and shiny and I will remind you to pet me by rubbing up against you, seeking your attention. My foster enjoys lifting me onto her lap to pet and snuggle me and I don't mind! I love to play with toys on a string and will chase a mouse toy around occasionally. My favorite thing, though, is a canvas shopping bag. I like to play with the straps, and crawl inside. You will often see me use my front feet as if I am sharpening my claws, but don't worry about anything because I am declawed. If you come home and can't find me anywhere, just look under a blanket-it is my favorite place to snuggle.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sonny, a Burlington American Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Burlington, or seeking a American Shorthair cat from a breeder in Burlington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Burlington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Burlington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Burlington paves the way for another one to be saved.
