Shelby's Story...
Shelby is a beautiful, energetic 2 year old redbone coonhound. She is a wonderful companion and absolutely LOVES attention. She is house broken, crate trained. She loves to roll around in the grass and run around in the backyard. Fetch is her favorite game. She is content playing with her stuffed animal at your feet of goofing off in the back yard with. She is learning basic commands and is eager to learn more especially when treats are involved :)! I can’t say enough great things about Shelby. She is very well-rounded and would fit well with most families but will do best with a family that interacts and engages her. She has very good home manners and doesnt climb on beds and couches and get into things. Shelby needs a fenced back yard and and maybe even a companion to romp around the yard in. She is spayed, heartworm negative, current on vaccinations and trifexis. She is located in Huntsville, AL, but is available for adoption in your area. You can fill out an application for Shelby here: http://forrescue.net/dog-application/. Once we receive your app, her foster mom will be in touch!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shelby, a Huntsville Rhodesian Ridgeback/Bloodhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Bloodhound for sale in Huntsville, or seeking a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Bloodhound dog from a breeder in Huntsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Huntsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Huntsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rhodesian Ridgeback/Bloodhound breeders who help with Rhodesian Ridgeback/Bloodhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Huntsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
