Update: Due to Izzy's age, arthritis and kidney disease, she is now a 'hospice foster'. This means she will live with her foster mom for whatever quality time she has left.
It's costly for the rescue to keep up with the monthly expenses for our hospice dogs, please consider a donation for their care!
Meet Izzy! She is a distinguished gal between 8 - 10 years old. She was found wandering and taken to a local shelter, luckily she was microchipped and so her owners were found! Sadly, they said they didn't want her back and signed her over to the shelter where she was rescued by GPMR. Izzy came to us emaciated, with intestinal parasites and heartworm positive. It's pretty clear she wasn't well cared for. Izzy is about as sweet as they come and even though her expenses will far exceed any adoption fee, we couldn't leave her to die in a shelter.
Izzy is good with other dogs of all sizes but cats are unknown. When she came to us, she weighed 100 lbs and was extremely underweight - she is gaining steadily and looks like a different dog now!
Izzy is being fostered in Tulsa, OK
