Silver's Story...
When Silver first arrived at the shelter, she was very stressed and nervous. She had a hard time dealing with the new environment and all the things going on around her. She was moved in with our Barn Cats in order to give her freedom and plenty of feline companions to help calm her down. After a few months, she’s moved back in to our Community Cat room and is doing very well. She won’t be the first cat to greet new people, but with some gentle coaxing she will come out and look for attention. Her nerves are settled and her sweet, friendly personality is now able to shine through. She would do best in a home with no small children though. Stop on by the shelter today to meet this darling girl and see if she’s the right one for you. - See more at:

  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a West Kennebunk breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Mediumhair breeders who help with Domestic Mediumhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in West Kennebunk paves the way for another one to be saved.
