Aquarius's Story...
This is Aquarius. He was found as a stray on Coble Drive. He is a very thin and very senior Jack Russell Terrier. He was found loaded with fleas and was given a medicated bath as soon as he came into the shelter. The vet estimates him to be at least 9 years old and probably older than that. He is timid but allows you to handle him if you go slowly. He is neutered and fully vetted so his adoption fee is $15.

A dog found as a stray wearing a collar is held for 5 days before it is put up for adoption or rescue. Our shelter is a first come first adopt/rescue facility. There are no holds placed on dogs for potential adopters/rescue. They are available at 7am on the day they are available and must be picked up and paid for at that date/time. An adopter or rescue cannot call and hold a dog to be picked up at a later date. It is available to the public until it walks out the door.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Aquarius, a Lewisburg Jack Russell Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier for sale in Lewisburg, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier dog from a breeder in Lewisburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lewisburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lewisburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lewisburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
