Here's what the humans have to say about me:
“Sweet boy”, “Grunting boy”, “Lover boy”, “Silly boy”, “Goofy boy”, “Gem” and “Little Dude (my foster dad’s favorite for me!)”……yup, I am all the above and then some (all good!). The name that I actually answer to is “Little Boy”, given to me by my original owners a number of years back. I am just under 24 pounds, so I am on the smaller size. I am a little confused because my family surrendered two of my friends and myself at a southern Ohio dog shelter. They must have thought that it was best for us. I am not sure what happened to my friends, but when my foster mom and other Midwest BREW volunteers saw me on a facebook post, they knew a shelter was no place for me, and got me on transport to my foster home!!
The original post on facebook said that I was 13 years old, but foster mom and a veterinarian determined that I was more like 8 years old. My eyes are clear, my hearing is good, and I’m spry and overall in great health! I have worn down my teeth in front, perhaps from being caged for long periods of time in my former life? Here at my foster home, I sometimes sleep in a crate at night, and when they go away for a couple hours, I go in a crate, without any problems, so memories of how I wore my teeth down must not be vivid! Foster mom says I am such a personable, happy boy, and she loves my little grunts when she holds my little face and loves on me!! I just love attention, and will lean my little head on your lap, in your hands, on your knees, wherever I can, to get some lovin’!
Here at my foster home, I have a beagle friend and two other dogs to hang with. The beagle friend and I sometimes play, and we all go for walks together, usually twice a day, because we love them so much! I am a good, happy walker, with some interruptions from my busy nose!! I like toys, and will play with encouragement; sometimes hiding stuffed animals all around the house!! My foster mom has two little grand daughters and I was very nice to them when they visited. I even slept in their ball fort while they were napping, how fun!!! I eat my meals in my crate, as I seem to get worried that another dog may take my food. I eat fine despite my front teeth being worn, but I am a little slower, so I am much happier and confident when I eat alone!
So, I am hoping that someone out there is looking for a little buddy full of personality and unconditional love, because that’s me!!!! I’d sure like a forever home….
