My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We got a very concerned email from Texas about sweet Leah ...the shelter was set on finding a home for this unusually beautiful (with the most amazing eyes that speak of great wisdom) and very loving Shih Tzu/Poodle mix puppy. It's so difficult to see in this sad shelter photo how truly stunning Leah is...her markings are so unusual and will stand out in her gorgeous post-shelter coat.

Leah was recognized for her goodness and sweet personality (and her kindness is obvious and attracts admirers everywhere she goes). Her cuteness also draws people to love on her with soft words and belly rubs. As stunning as Leah is on the outside (although this poor girl will be so happy after a sudsy bath and new hairdo) it just doesn't compare with the love and good-will that flows from the heart of this engaging girl.

Leah aced her temperament testing (she passed with flying colors) and got a perfect on her vetting assessment. So...off she went to her foster home to be reminded of respectful house skills and to wait for her transport to Denver and a brand new life. Since Leah has gotten an A for sweetness, cuddling and general positive behavior...she's ready to be a devoted family member. We envision her in a home either with older and very gentle children who can cuddle and love Leah with a light touch or she'd be a natural in a home with retirees who will shower time and attention on this devoted and engaging girl.

We would never want Leah in a situation where she's alone for many hours. Instead we would love for her to be taken along on walks, adventures and visits with dog-loving friends. She's almost impossible not to fall in love with...her manner speaks of softness and light. Leah also travels like a champ - she loves nothing more than coming along on errands, socializing visits and any adventure that keeps her together with those she loves. Leah would be a natural to come along on vacations or getaways (and is a perfect companion and lap dog) at 16 weeks old and 10.6 lbs..so easy to scoop up and take along. Leah is so pleasant with everyone that she attracts admirers everywhere she goes. But it will definitely be the special lap and familiar touch that will draw Leah back to her family every time...she's a one-family girl!

Leah is a non-shedding puppy and will therefore require a commitment to periodic grooming. Sudsy baths and cute haircuts along with great nutrition will keep Leah's silky coat healthy and matt-free.

Leah is arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 4/22/16. If interested in this snuggly and loyal pup who desperately wants to be a best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
