Rusty is a sweet, gentle soul. He is 3.5 years old and weighs 10.5 pounds. He has a calm, quiet energy level. We rescued this sweet long-haired chihuahua from a high kill facility and do not know much about his previous home life other than he was under-exercised and over-fed (he needs to lose about 3 pounds). Rusty would love walks, card rides, yard time, visiting with folks, naps and couch cuddling. He would do best in a calm home with older children or would be a wonderful loving companion to a caring individual. There's a lot of love and joy from from this great dog and he is ready to share it with his new family.

Thank you for your interest in a dog adoption from LoveHandlers Animal Sanctuary. LoveHandler dogs are healthy (unless a disability is noted) and have been spayed/neutered, up-to-date on shots and heartworm negative. They are being fostered in the Great Smoky Mountains, Tennessee and will be transported when adopted. They will be bathed and nails clipped, with flea guard and a new collar with tag. Please note that LoveHandlers.org must be very thorough in finding out all it can about an adoptive situation before releasing a dog to someone's care. It is important for LoveHandlers.org to check veterinarian references. To begin the process of adopting a pet from LoveHandlers an Adoption Application Contract Package must be completed. Please contact us at LoveHandlers@live.com. The completion and return of the application does not guarantee adoption; you will be contacted for a phone interview should the adoption proceed.
