Kobe's Story...
THIS IS A COURTESY LISTING. ADR is not responsible for the health, temperament, behavior or placement of this dog. Listings are done at the request of the dog's owner and as an outreach and community service in hopes of finding these dogs a loving, stable forever home. Placement decisions are made solely at the discretion of the owner, and not Austin Dog Rescue. Owners are required to ask for an adoption fee from adopters.

This is the information that we received from Kobe's current family:

We named him Kobe. Based on his teeth, my vet thinks he's closer to 5.5 months old. He looks like a Pit/Lab mix. He is 24 lbs, with an estimated adult weight of 45-50 lbs.

He loves everyone, especially my kids. He is very submissive when meeting new people. He's a total sweetheart, and loves to cuddle. He is crate-trained, but prefers to be with his people. He loves snuggling on the couch with my son. At night, he sleeps on his dog bed on the floor in my bedroom. He stays there the entire night with no accidents! He knows how to use the dog door, and goes outside to potty. He is very smart, and has learned quickly to go outside to potty. We have only had a few accidents in the past few days.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kobe, a Austin Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Austin, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
