Chewie's Info...

I am already neutered, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Chewie's Story...
Chewie is a male (4 year old) Shih-Tzu Mix
Chewie came to RRR when he was found to be living in an abandoned house. He was being cared for by neighbors. It is possible his owner passed away, and he was left behind, but we do not know his full story... Only Chewie does! He loves people and other small to medium sized dogs, he will tolerate a large, laid-back dog. He has not been cat tested, however we are more than happy to bring him to meet any cat in your home.
Chewie is in our foster program and lives with his foster parents, and various small to large, active dogs. He enjoys being held, going on car rides, and shopping with his foster parents.
Chewie is neutered, UTD on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and heart worm negative.
Do you have room in your heart and on your lap for this adorable little guy?

You can apply for Chewie here: http://www.rutherfordrescueranch.org/adoption-application.html. His adoption fee donation is $250.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chewie, a Pittsburgh Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Pittsburgh, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Pittsburgh.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pittsburgh already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pittsburgh breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pittsburgh paves the way for another one to be saved.
