Patience is an older gal who was found as a stray in our local area. She has had some eye and ear issues and recently had a polyp removed from her ear. She is recovering nicely, though! Patience is a quiet girl who likes to be held and petted. She is a lovely, calm cat who really deserves the love and care of a new guardian. How about you?

About Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley

About Our Shelter...

We are a non-profit, no-kill shelter. We house approximately 22 dogs and 30-40 cats. Our shelter is primarily a haven for stray animals from our area, where we care for them until they are adopted. We have a very small staff of part time employees, a board of directors of 12, and a solid group of volunteers. We are run solely on donations from the public.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are located at 533 Linden Avenue in New Kensington, PA. We are open Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 1-4. Open Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-8.

Our Adoption Process...

$120 for dog adoption over 6 months in age. Dogs under 6 months $130. $80 for cat adoption over 6 months in age. Kittens under 6 months $100.

Application must be approved before adoption takes place. Our shelter does landlord checks and vet checks. Property checks are done on all dogs.
