Bucky's Story...
Bucky was abandoned with another rabbit (Speckles) after the owner had to move. They were put outside and left on their own for over two years before a neighbor was able to successfully trap them. The neighbor called animal control who baited the rabbits and were able to trap them. Both rabbits were relocated to the rescue and the female Speckles was spayed quickly because we suspected she was pregnant. Bucky is approx 4 years old. He weighs 7 pounds. He is a albino Californian. Bucky had been own his own for several years so he is very timid; more so than Speckles. Bucky and Speckles are progressing well with the litter box considering they haven't had one in several years.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bucky, a Wilmington Californian was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Californian for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Californian from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Californian breeders who help with Californian rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
