Monkey's Story...
Monkey is a 3 year old male gray and black striped tabby. He was saved from the Big Bear Shelter, where he spent 6 long weeks. He has had a rough few years of life, but that is over with now! Monkey can apparently read, because somehow he figured out that it can take up to 6 weeks to feel comfortable in a new household. Six weeks to the day that he was saved, he allowed his foster mommy the privilege and honor of petting his soft, furry little body for the first time! Now its all belly rubs and head bumps all the way!

Monkey Pie, as he is affectionately called, is a cuddly bundle of joy. He loves nothing better than curling up on a nice soft blanket, with a human showering him with affection. He loves tummy rubs, playing with his favorite toy (a catnip banana!), and people watching from his window perch.

Monkey would do best in a household where he is the only cat. He is perfectly comfortable in a small space, as long as he has his very own person(s) to love him. He is quiet, gentle, and gracious, and is looking for his forever person. He is neutered, micro-chipped, and up-to-date on all vaccines. He tested negative for FeLV and FIV. If you think that Monkey is the one for you, please visit www.KittyDevoreRescue.org to complete an application. You will be rewarded with a furry best friend who will lay on your lap and gaze at you with adoring crystal green eyes and a grateful heart.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Monkey, a Murrieta Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Murrieta, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Murrieta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Murrieta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Murrieta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Murrieta paves the way for another one to be saved.
