Hello everyone!

My name is Thor. I am a black w/white chest male Great Dane. I am
3 1/2yrs old and weighs 137 lbs. I have had the tip of my tail docked due to happy tail.

I am a submissive dog who gets along with other dogs (large and small), as long as they are not dominant. I love playing tug o’ war game with a doggie friend. I do have a tendency to play a little rough, but never aggressive.

Cats? I'm not sure how I like cats as my foster family doesn't have any cats.

I love people of all ages! When it comes to children, I try to contain my
excitement but, sometimes I just get so happy, I’d accidentally knock
them down because I so want to hug them!

I really like to be up close to everyones face and just touch everyone. I’m very friendly!

I must admit that when people greets me, it makes me so happy I want to greet them back by jumping on adults. However, I’ve learned that if people put their hands up and tell me “No jump!”, I will listen and not jump on people at all!

Whenever someone knocks on the front door, I alert my foster momma while I become happily excited and bark. Because I so badly want to see who it is and bark “hello!” and make them become my friends, some people didn’t understand my behavior and become nervous around me and my big size. My foster momma is trying to explain to me (and train me) not bark and demand attention because some people just don’t understand my happy behavior. So, I have to learn to be quiet, sit and not scare people. I will learn how to do it but, I’m too happy and don’t want to miss an opportunity to meet new people at my home!

Whenever I’m away from home or there’s lots of activity at my home, I tend to be a little nervous whenever new person comes around me. I will make a nervous-sounding yet non-aggressive growl at a stranger for a brief time. Once the stranger talks to me and pets me, I feel comfortable and make that stranger become my best buddy!

I like to drink out of the bathroom faucet when its turned on. If my
foster dad forgets to close the lid, I also like to drink out of the toilet
bowl. I don’t know why humans think it’s yucky, but hey I'm a dog! I
can't help it! Besides, I just don’t understand why people likes to sit on my water bowl……..

I would love to have a fenced yard to run around in. I am fully house trained but I don't usually bark when I need to go potty. However, I will run from the door to find my foster mom or dad, then I
run back to the door. Rinse and repeat until my foster mom or dad lets
me out.

I might have potty accidents when I first get to new places or if I don't get enough outside time.

When its nice and warm out I love to be out and sun myself while taking a nap on some nice green grass. If it’s cold outside, I will run out and do my business right away and then runs back into the house so I will not lolly-gagging around.

As being a great dog, both of my foster parents are confused as to why I have a bit of an anxiety. I have a tendency to be scared and begin to cry whenever I’m in a crate/kennel. I would rub my nose hard and cut it up pretty bad. If I’m being left alone in a room, I’d be fine for a little while. If my people don’t return soon, I start to cry and will jump on the door, needing their attention. Unless I have some yummy treats to help keep me occupied (i.e. antler, kong with peanut butter, etc.).

In order to find my forever family, I’ll need three things ——

I’d love it if my new mom or dod be assertive and can handle a stubborn, sweet, lovable boy like me.
An owner who is home a lot or have a non-dominant fur-brother or fur-sister to keep me company for me to play with while my new owner needs to be away from home (i.e. errands, work, etc.)
My new owner must make sure not to leave any food on the counters, because I will not be responsible for sneaking food off sometimes. They’re so yummy!
