Sierra's Story...
Sierra is a gorgeous, six year old, blue merle-headed white collie. Sierra was surrendered because her owners were unable to take care of her. She enjoys the company of dogs and people and would likely do fine with children as she is very gentle and even tempered. Sierra is also very good with cats and doesn't mind her foster brothers, Tango and Beauty.

Being a mature girl, Sierra usually prefers cuddling on the couch being her very mellow and relaxed self. She loves treats, is very quiet for a collie, and rarely barks. Sierra can be a bit timid on first meeting but she warms up to you once she has a chance to get acquainted. She is house trained but is still learning how to negotiate stairs, something her foster family is working on. This lovely girl will make someone a wonderful, loving companion.

Sierra is currently being fostered in Ohio.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sierra, a Powell Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie for sale in Powell, or seeking a Collie dog from a breeder in Powell.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Powell already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Powell breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie breeders who help with Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Powell paves the way for another one to be saved.
