Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sure, I’d love to be your new pal, but can we take things a little slow? I promise I wanna be your best friend, but I tend to choose my company well. Sure, I may be a little ruff around the edges. Get it? Ruff around the edges! I prefer the term “unconditioned.” Don’t worry, I got plenty of smarts to learn new tricks if someone were so inclined to teach me. I get amped pretty quick if I think a stranger might be a threat, so I could stand to learn how to harness my energy and express my uneasiness in more appropriate ways. So it’s important I find a family without young children—I prefer to surround myself with pals who know how to take things slow and easy. I get along with other dogs well enough and am having a blast with all my pack mates here at the shelter—just don’t ask me to befriend no pesky felines! I am learning this crate training thing, and I’ve sure gotten the hang of it. I’m also already housetrained, I love to play fetch, and I ride well in the car. So if you’re looking for a new pal to join your small circle of friends, pick Cal and you’ll have a best pal for life! 3 years old-28lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes neuter, microchip & registration, 1 month pet health insurance, reduced-cost training class, free vet exam, leash/collar, toy treat packet, food sample.
