This handsome fellow has been living as a stray on his own practically since birth. Having been fed, watered and loved on by various neighborhood children and one of the rescues friends who live in the area for the past two years. Today (3-23-16) our friend and fellow animal advocate saw him wandering and noticed he was limping and had become very skinny which caused concern. After being able to get a closer look she was shocked to see that he had been shot in his leg. Immediately taking him to the vet which was thankfully covered by numerous donors the vet agreed this poor boys injury was indeed caused by a gunshot which happened several weeks prior. Fragments from the bullet remain inside of his leg as they did not do an x-ray at that time as the vet believed there was nothing broken. Unfortunately not being able to keep him with her and fearing for his safety if released our friend brought him to us for safe keeping and care.
Known to the kids of his previous neighborhood as stripes we thought he looked more like "Tigger" from Winnie the Pooh which is how we got his name. Knowing this sweet angel has endured so very much living life as a stray from birth and being shot left in pain yet still trusting of humans says so much about his personality. From what we know of this handsome boy he is loving, loyal and kind. As strangers to him he still found it in himself to push past the fear and anxiety enough to trust that we would not harm him. Upon intake and introduction to his outside kennel all fears melted away as he laid down and relaxed for the first time. Since only being with us less than 24 hrs we will continue to update this profile but as for now he is doing well and will start to receive the best care and love he has always deserved.
