Bella, a 10-year-old Miniature Pinscher, is a small dog with a big personality. Outgoing, friendly and queenly, Bella LOVES attention. And, does she ever love a belly rub! She is housebroken, good with children and gets along with other dogs. Bella is sometimes territorial with her things, but she is learning to share. Bella came into rescue at almost double the weight that is appropriate for her breed and age, making it hard for her to breathe. Since arriving in rescue, with walking and portion control (and no human food!!), she has already gone from 17 lbs. to 13 lbs. That's FOUR pounds less of Bella! Bella loves to walk, and now it isn't as difficult for her. She can even jump up on the couch and her favorite chair more easily. Bella still needs to watch her weight so her new owner will need to continue Bella's diet and exercise. Bella is looking forward to her forever home!!
Update on Bella (6/22/2016): Bella has just been diagnosed with congestive heart failure. She has been put on Lasix and Benzapril, which she will most likely need for the rest of her life. With good care, she could live months or years. Bella does not have a heart murmur. This set-back has not affected her spirit or energy level. She is still a very happy sweetie.
