Francis's Story...
Francis McDormand is a sweet 1-2 year old. She was admired to an emergency foster home in mid-March after we received a call about a VERY pregnant grey and white cat who needed our help.

Two days later, Francis gave birth to her litter in a safe, warm, dark and quiet space, assisted by two human doulas.

Francis has been a super mama cat, feeding and caring for her 5 little loves who are now 5 weeks old (as of April 15, 2016). While she will be tied up for the next few weeks, very soon she will need a home of her own. She is a lovely cat, sweet, friendly. Francis is just a doll!

To meet her, please write to us at hydeparkcatsadoptions@gmail.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Francis, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
