My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hannah: born in September, 2015, female, lynx point Egyptian Mau mix

Well, Here she is, Hannah, the sixth kitten of Kiya the Egyptian Mau mama. There is so much to say about her. Where should I start?

She hates cameras and knows how to scowl when one is anywhere near her. See her cranky expression? She has a very expressive face from soft to fierce. She is a big character in a small body. Hannah has been hand-raised and received a great deal of attention. We all adore her.

She is a tiny girl, weighing only four pounds at 7 months. Her siblings are close to twice that. Of course, we worried that this little runt would flourish, but she has been strong and healthy the whole time. We did a blood panel on her to check that all was well. It was. She just grows very slowly. Will she ever get to normal size? There is no way to know. I doubt it.

She races around with her tail straight up. She is so full of the joy of living. Hannah loves attention and is very sweet with her doting humans. However, she does not want to be held when a camera is near or when she wants to run. Yes, she is willful.

When her siblings left for the day to be spay/ neutered, she discovered how delightful it was to have them gone. ”This is great!!” When they returned, she made it clear she wanted only humans for friends. She got a room of her own and loved that. A few weeks later, after turning away all kitty companions that we offered to her, she spied the handsomest, biggest cat she had ever seen and set out to win him over. Jonah, the Bengal.

Jonah having had hip surgery was gingerly trying out his new hip. ”LET’S PLAY!” Hannah said. She was the best physical therapy he could have. They became best friends, talking to each other from across the room when separated. He curls up with his long, elegant body all around her and grooms her. It is so sweet. We will not separate this unusual pair. No Exceptions. The odd couple. They are beautiful together.

Hannah eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

Her foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
