Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We understand that Suzie's guardian had no choice but to part with this very sweet girl. The woman's health had been going downhill for years and with it her care of her Poodles. We're not certain if she knew that they were being turned into a very high-kill shelter..but do understand her necessity. Compassionate New Mexico rescuers recognized the love this wonderful dog could bring to a family and contacted Farfel's. We are so happy to speak up for Suzie and search for a kind and nurturing home for her.
Suzie is the perfect best friend for a family searching for that very loving lap dog. Suzie, at approximately 6 - 7 years old and 15 lbs is a dream girl for those whose lifestyle is mellow. Suzie would be overjoyed with a guardian that is searching for a full-time companion . She would be such a sweet-tempered love bug to take on a walk (those long legs will be perfect for longer hikes) or a car ride to go anywhere that a sweet dog is allowed. She may be small but once Suzie is exposed to an active lifestyle, she will be thrilled to spend her time with the Colorado sunshine warming her back.
We envision Suzie in a quiet home...she appears to like kids but the activity and noise level of young children on a full-time basis aren't compatible with her quiet personality. Suzie enjoys other dogs her own size who will be gentle...she's fine with sharing the couch, the yard and even a warm lap.
Suzie's foster has noticed that Suzie enjoys classical music. Any time it comes on in the house, the car or anywhere for that matter, Suzie's little head cocks sideways and you swear you see her sway to the soft music. We feel it brings her a calmness that she finds so enjoyable.
A retired individual or couple who love adorable adult dogs with cotton-soft hair, amazing personalities (once they get over their initial shyness) and taste in fine music would be the perfect forever spot for this wonderful little dog.
Suzie is a non-shedding girl (and considered to be one of the most hypoallergenic mixes available). She will therefore require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her cottony-soft coat healthy and matt-free.
Suzie will be arriving on transport in Denver on Saturday 4/23/16. If interested in this very loving and devoted best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
