Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Barley is an absolutely darling petite shepherd. She came into rescue after being found as a stray. Shortly after arrival, she gave birth to 6 adorable happy and healthy pups. Now it's Mama Barley's turn for her forever home!
A tiny slip of a girl, Barley weighs just 45 pounds and is happily gaining weight like a champ! We affectionately call her a "pocket shepherd"! Sweet and well-mannered, Barley will be a great fit in almost any household. She has not received any formal training, but learns incredibly quickly and is working on her basic obedience. She is also working on housetraining, and is almost completely there already! Like all our dogs, Barley will require a fenced yard. Ideally, she would have a home with another submissive dog, as she gets along with the dogs in her foster home very well and seems to enjoy the company. Barley would love a family dedicated to raising a great family dog.

Due to the nature of this breed, for safety reasons NWGSR does not adopt to homes with children under 8 years of age, or with dogs weighing less than 20 pounds. We also require a fully-fenced yard, with fencing a minimum of 5' tall. More information on these policies is available on our website. The rescue requires previous German Shepherd ownership experience for any of our dogs under the age of 2.
