My story

Shirley is looking for a home in St. Louis, Missouri.

Here's a lovely lady who's a little complex. She needs somebody empathetic and cat-savvy who wants a really loving cat.

She longs for her very own human friend, and her own lap, but sometimes she just wants to sit in your lap quietly, without being petted. She's so thirsty for love and affection that at first it is easy to miss her complex nature. You have to read her. Sometimes she's ready for love, but other times she just wants her space, even if she is in your lap.

Estimated to be three years old, Shirley's complexities have already caused her trouble. She lost the first home we found her because of a nip, although she can also be extremely affectionate. She can live with other cats, but she may growl at them to leave her be, and she prefers to keep her distance from them. She's a girl you have to work to understand. But there's definitely a cat in there who just wants to love - and be understood.
