My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Jumanji. He is a blue-fronted amazon, DNA male, and is approximately 22 years old. He was extremely loved, spoiled, and well taken care of by his previous owner; she raised him from a baby.Due to unforeseen circumstances out of her control however, she could no longer provide him with the fulfilling life he once had with her and deserved. Jumanji is a beautiful bird, very talkative and quite the animated little fella. He loves men and is very male preferential. He will NOT be adopted out to a female. Despite not being handled for quite some time, he has made remarkable progress since he has been with us; for an Amazon that is. He is still getting comfortable with his new environment, however that has not stopped him from whistling, and singing along with me the Oscar Meyer Weiner song. He has stepped up for my husband a handful of times, and really enjoys having his head and back scratched through the cage. He loves swinging on his swing, taking showers, as well as playing with his toys. We haven't yet heard all of his broad vocabulary, but from what we were told, he follows several commands including step up, come down here, and get back in your home. He is said to follow the Old McDonald song, and say hi pretty bird, you be a good bird, step up, no bite, good shower, what doin, and its ok among other things. He loves attention, being out of his cage, and when you sing and whistle to him. Jumanji does not do well with other birds, children, and would not be a bird that I would recommend to a first time bird owner. His potential adopter must be very patient with him, and understand that Amazons are one-person birds, and can take a while to bond with their new human. His original owner would also like to remain in contact with his new adopter, therefore any potential adopter must be ok with this as well. He would do best in a single bird home.
