My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Would you just take a look at this gorgeous girl and her long flowing hair?!? If Rapunzel had a dog, Debbie would be it. Debbie is ~8 years old, weighs ~12 lbs, and has the LONGEST hair of any dachshund we've ever met. This super sweet girl just wants a lap to sit in and a person to love her. She's very laid back, is very quiet, and is an all-around good little girl. Her foster mom says "Debbie gets along with everyone and loves to sleep in our lap when we're watching TV. She sleeps in our big bed but on top of the covers. She's a little love monkey and is no trouble at all." Would you like to offer this little princess her new home?

If you are interested in adopting Debbie, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform.shtml . Debbie 's adoption fee is $500. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Debbie will go to her new home microchipped, spayed, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
