KB's Story...
Hi, I am KB, a female Maltese, and they think I’m 11 years old. I was owner surrendered to the Animal Foundation in April. After 5 days of no one claiming me, I was rescued by A Home 4 Spot.

My foster mommy has three other small dogs, boy and 2 girls and I get along great with them. My foster grandma even brought her 60 lb. lab dog over and I wasn’t scared of him at all! I like to look out the window in car rides and mostly nap through the day. I also like to have my neck and belly rubbed. A Home 4 Spot had my dental done, and I had to have 7 teeth removed! Although I only have 3 teeth left, I can eat small dry, but I won’t complain if you want to spoil me with moist food. A Home 4 Spot also had my hernia operated on, so I am now in perfectly good shape. I am up-to-date on shots; I’m chipped, but I am not spayed. I’m pad potty trained and I will let you know when I have to go. Mommy doesn’t know if I know how to use a doggy door. I was a little sad for the first couple of weeks, as I don’t know why I was surrendered. But I’m doing good now! I would probably be best in a home with no small children.

After I have the stitches removed from my hernia, I will be available for adoption. My foster mommy Paula can be reached at 702-340-5193 or complete an interest application at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

KB, a Las Vegas Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Las Vegas, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Las Vegas.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Las Vegas already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Las Vegas breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Las Vegas paves the way for another one to be saved.
