My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Smokey is a beautiful, loving boy. He is friendly, happy and currently boarding with local trainers and their dogs. He's learning good manners and getting positive dog socialization.

Smokey lost his home when his family was evicted. He and his sister Blue were very skinny. Neighbors don't believe they were abused, they were just the victims of the family's financial state. Despite a hungry and outdoor existence, both pups are extremely sweet and trusting of people.

Of the pair, Smokey was the boss. So he is used to having that status with other dogs; this means he will probably do best as an only dog, or with a calm, submissive dog like Blue who is introduced to the home after him.

Smokey will make a great and loyal pet to whomever gives him the chance. He is absolutely loving the fattening up in foster (maybe a little too much) and the TLC. The last two pics are from his rescue and recovery period, but show off his beautiful eyes.

Smokey is ready to be spoiled for years to come and promises to repay you with loyalty and love. He and Blue do not have to be adopted as a pair, but if you are looking to adopt two dogs who are known to get along, they would fit the bill.
