Hi, my name is Shiloh and I was rescued from a high kill shelter where I passed all the tests and was considered "adoptable" but the I was almost killed for having a doggy cold! Luckily, a wonderful woman all the way in New Jersey decided that I was worth saving and contacted Tuffie's Animal Rescue. They knew of my plight, but had no open foster homes, so opted to put me in a boarding kennel where I was a favorite with all the volunteers. Now I am in a foster home with lots of other doggies and get along with them all.

I am a 50#, 3 year old, blue nose American pit bull terrier/Staffordshire terrier mix with a white spot on my chest. Someone also did a very bad job of cropping my ears, but it hasn't dampened my shining personality! I am a bit thin, but it turned out that I had something called tick fever, so I was treated for it and was just given the all clear report! I am spayed, current on shots and will be micro chipped before going home with you.

I have an exceptional personality, do not jump up on people and enjoy the 4 and 5 year old visitors that I have had as well as everyone else who visits. I know "sit", come when called, love treats and car rides. I am a little too interested in kitties, but get along with dogs big and small. I enjoy walks and don't mind baths. Because I am a terrier, I am medium to medium high energy. I can't wait to meet you and see it you are "the one" or "the family" that I have been waiting for!

My adoption donation is $200. To find out more or set up a Meet and Greet, please call or text (925) 209-6480 or leave a message at (623) 587-9119 or e-mail Diane@TArescue.com.

About Tuffie's Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small, non-profit group of dedicated volunteers who rescue dogs and cats that are going to be euthanized, usually for lack of space. We have taken many animals that have been considered "unadoptable" and have found them wonderful homes with families that couldn't imagine life without them! Our motto is "saving one pet won't change the world, but how the world will change for that one pet" and the person or family that adopts it. We operate through foster families. We received our 501(c)3 status in 2005, beginning in Pleasanton, CA and then moving to Phoenix, AZ. We have animals fostered in both places, so please don't let distance stop you form inquiring about a pet that interests you. One of our foster "moms" has been rescuing horses, so we hope to be listing those for adoption soon, too. If you are interested in volunteering or donating money or other items, please don't hesitate to call or email. We will always try to accomadate you or point you in the right direction.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We will begin holding Adoption Fairs at Pet Club on 67th Avenue, just north of the 101 on the east side of the road. Please call (925) 209-6480 or (623) 587-9119 for more info.

Our Adoption Process...

Generally adoption donations are $175-250 for small dogs and puppies and $150-200 for bigger dogs, kittens are $100 and cats are $75. There are exceptions and each pet's adoption donation is usually listed in its bio. Our pets are usually fixed, current on shots and micro chipped. We have a pre-adoption form for you to fill out and often do home visits. We strive to make it the perfect match, but we ALWAYS want the pet returned if it doesn't work out. Adoption donations are refunded within the first two weeks minus $50, if you need to return your pet.
