Facts about Sissy

  • Breed: Pit Bull Terrier Mix
  • Color: White
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
Sissy LOVES people, however she would rather not share her space with another animal. I am sure there is someone out there that is looking for just one dog who they can share adventures with by day and cuddle sessions by night. We will be happy to provide a free training session, as well as a reduced adoption fee to the right owner. This stunning blue eyed girl is growing tired of being looked over. Let's give this girl a happy new year!

About Animal Rescue RI

About Our Shelter...

In 1938, a handful of concerned citizens recognized the need for a humane organization dedicated to the protection and care of stray, abandoned, and abused animals. They founded the Animal Rescue League of Southern Rhode Island (ARLSRI), establishing themselves as a non-profit organization in 1970, and recently renamed Animal Rescue Rhode Island (ARRI).For many years the shelter was located in a barn with animals cared for by volunteers. In 1969 the recently replaced shelter was built and from here a small staff, supported by passionate, selfless volunteers, worked near miracles caring for hundreds of unwanted animals each year. This work continues from the recently opened new shelter, where ARRI staff and volunteers continue to care for approximately 50 cats, 20 dogs, and other small animals, such as guinea pigs, at any given time.

Today, ARRI is respected statewide as one of the few, local no-kill shelters. In addition to its shelter services, ARRI is involved in coordinated efforts with other animal welfare groups to improve the lives of companion animals throughout RI. ARRI’s services to the community continue to grow each year. To meet those needs, ARRI proudly works in conjunction with many other caring organizations in Rhode Island, as well.

ARRI receives no federal, state, or local funding and depends on private and business donations, grants, sponsorships of fundraising events, and generous donations from caring individuals! The success of the organization would not be possible without supporters like you!

Our Adoption Process...

Animal Rescue Rhode Island’s goal is to find the best match possible between the animal and the adopting home. To ensure the placement of a pet into the proper home environment, potential owners are interviewed and must fill out an Adoption Application. The application asks information that helps us determine whether the home would be the right one for that particular pet. All applicants must be approved before they adopt a pet.
