Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jimmu is a handsome black and tan shiba inu who was relinquished from an Amish puppy mill after they deemed him too old for further breeding. He came to DCSIR with a fellow puppy mill survivor who is much more traumatized; Jimmu demonstrated that he was caring by checking up on her during their early acclimation to foster care. Jimmu had to endure some fairly extensive medical treatment and dental work due to years of neglect; fortunately, he is recovered and able to eat--especially boiled chicken!
Jimmu is a low-activity dog, he is house-trained and has full access to his foster home with no issues. Jimmu is so happy to have a yard to run around in, and he loves to explore his surroundings. He also seems to like investigating garden statues--perhaps you have one in your yard?
If you would like to commit to adding Jimmu to your family, fill out an application here: http://dcsir.org/adoptionfoster-forms/
Jimmu would do fine in a family with dogs, cats, or children!
