Hello! My name is Abby and I am 3 years old.  I'm a petite girl, and don't take up much space.  I am not very confident in new situations or around new people.  I do much better with another dog who can show me the ropes.  It doesn't really matter if that is a big dog or a small dog.  I would also love to have some training to build my confidence.  When I feel good, and know that I'm in a safe place I am fun and happy.  I am very smart and well-behaved and love being around the people I trust to cuddle.  I like most women, but tall men with their deep voices can be a bit frightening.  It takes me a little while to warm up them.  My perfect family will need just a little patience to help me learn my new surroundings, and they will need to support my desire for a secondary education.  Smart girls need to be challenged after all.  I would LOVE a family that enjoys hiking and running.   Traveling is not exactly my favorite thing though, as I still get a little car sick, but there is this stuff called Dramamine that I hear makes a big difference in car-related tummy troubles.

My foster mom says I'm a messy drinker...  I just get distracted and slop my water everywhere!  It wipes up pretty easy though. I'm fairly particular with my food too, and don't like to eat fast like some dogs.  I'm not particularly food motivated either, unless it is something awesome like an all-beef hotdog, hold the mustard, please.

So that's what there is to know about me. I'm hanging out at a cool place in the mountains of Nelson County, Virginia. With a whole bunch of other dogs, a few cats and some chickens. Those chickens are SCARY.  If you are interested in meeting me, and perhaps becoming my forever person, apply now at www.southeastgermanshepherdrescue.com.

Our adoption process consists of a telephone interview, a call to your veterinarian and a home visit. If you have any questions about the adoption process please contact sgsrescue@gmail.com .
