My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! I'm Emma Rose.

My friends here at the rescue think that I am about 7 years old. I've still got some pep to my step, though. It's possible I might be a little younger, but it's hard to say for sure.

I am most likely a Shepherd/Chow mix. Once again, so hard to say with any certainty. They do make DNA tests so it's possible to find out, if you decide to adopt me.

I weigh about 45 pounds, but I'm definitely underweight. I should probably weigh closer to 52 pounds.

I am a spayed female and I have already been microchipped and vaccinated. My bags are packed and I am ready to start my new life.

My past is a little sad so grab some tissues. I'm sure you've heard stories of dogs who were turned into the shelter in horrendous conditions. Well, I was one of those dogs! When my family dumped me at a local high-kill shelter I was infested with ticks. I had a so many ticks that my ears were completely covered in them - inside and out! The shelter staff had to sedate me to remove them. Can you believe that? What kind of person lets their dog live like that?

Despite all the neglect, I am still the sweetest dog you'll ever meet. I love spending time with my human friends and all my canine pals. I'm a very social girl! Perhaps it's because I spent so much time alone without love and attention. I've got my fingers crossed that my next family will cherish me for the rest of my life. I think I deserve that, don't I?

Here's what I am looking for in a new home. Obviously, I want someone that will treat me like I'm part of the family and not just the dog. I'm not a high maintenance type of girl, so I don't need a ton of exercise, but I do enjoy my walks. Speaking of walks, I'm really good on a leash. My friends have no idea who taught me how to walk nicely on a leash, but they're glad they did.

I would also really love it if my new family liked having me around a lot. I can see it now, me in the backseat of the car, windows down, and my ears floating in the breeze as we drive down the road to our next adventure. Sounds like the perfect day to me! What do you think? Do you have room for a mature, sweet, loving lady like me? Are you excited to make me part of your family? If so, please contact CageFree as soon as you can! I just can't wait to meet you!!
