This very special kitty is our velvet blue 2 year old boy Joseph! He was born in the care of our rescue when his mama was abandoned outside. Unfortunately, because she was left out to fend for herself, she caught a cold which she had when her babies were born that left him with a cold he can’t quite kick.
This boy has a strong, resilient soul and tons of personality. If you’ve ever wanted a cat who would act like a kitten forever, then this is the guy for you. Everything is play, play, play and the more, the better! For this reason, he’s best with older children and very tolerant dogs who would love a lifelong kitten wanting to play with them. He could possibly live with other very playful kitties if they are kept up to date on their shots due to Joseph’s cold. Here’s what his foster mom has to say about him.
“Joseph is the very definition of a little survivor. After being orphaned by his mother and siblings becoming sick, he’s overcome all the odds and grown into a kitty who is bursting with personality. His cold leaves him with a sniffle that has gotten him the nickname of ‘Vader’ around the household, and he’s just as much of a show stopper.
Whatever you’re doing, he’s got to be checking it out right there beside you, so you’ll never feel lonely while he’s around. If you’re in a closed room or outside where he can’t see you, he’ll cry until he can be sure that you’re ok. He’s always interested in meeting new guests who come by and will try to crawl up to hug their chests and give kisses on their cheeks. He likes to do things on his own terms and would rather play than be pet at times, but when he’s looking for affection, he’ll cuddle up and lick your cheeks or pat at your hips with his paws to ask to be picked up.
And with all his quirks, he’s absolutely hilarious to watch. While he eats his dinner, he has to have a stuffed animal to accompany him or else he’ll cry. The thing he’s most fascinated in the world by is a measuring tape, and he’ll run from wherever he is in the house to come down to be absolutely fascinated by it extending and disappearing and try to touch it. While he’s awake, he’s normally found bounding and jumping like a kitten and finding things to play with. Then when it’s sleep time, he has tiny cat snores, especially when he’s sleeping upside down.
Joseph is absolutely fearless and curious to a fault, so it will be up to the owner to make sure he’s kept safe as he will run full speed into any adventure.”
Because of his chronic cold, we're offering him for a foster to adopt option for an experienced kitty owner to make sure that everyone gets along well and that his new owner has access to us for instructions on his care. We’d prefer that any dogs in the household be under 25lb and not rough as this boy has grown up with a dog, so he will try to wrestle with other pets like they are another kitten. He’s extremely high energy and needs a special home who can see to all his needs and provide him with the loving forever home he's yearned for all his life.
Please email us if you are interested in giving a home to this beautiful boy. We will even bring him to you so you can meet in his potential new home. There is a $55 adoption fee. This fee covers all the up to date vet care, neuter surgery, microchip and vaccines. This also helps us continue rescuing more animals. We also gladly accept cat food donations. Thank you.
