My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello everybody! My name is Fawn.

My friends think that I am an Irish Terrier mix. I have that scruffy, wire hair just like a Terrier. They really can't say for sure what I am mixed with, though. Your guess is as good as theirs!

I am a spayed female, probably around 4 years of age. I weigh approximately 23 pounds. I have already been microchipped and have had all my vaccines. I'm ready to step through the door of my new home.

I am a very sweet girl, but I can be a bit timid when first meeting people. Unfortunately, my past is a bit of an unknown, so it's hard to say whether I was ever properly socialized. If you are willing to go slow with me and allow me to feel comfortable around you, you'll see that I can be a very loving, affection pup. Once we're friends, I'll climb into your lap and wait for pets.

I came into a local high-kill shelter as a stray. There's no way of knowing how long I had been on the streets fending for myself. I was in pretty good shape so it's possible I hadn't been out there long. As luck would have it, I only spent a little over a week at the shelter. Some of my friends were able to reach out to a rescue in the area to ask them if I could go live at their facility while I wait for my future home. I couldn't be happier that they said yes. The shelter is a scary place, especially for a dog like me.

At this point in time, my friends think that I would do best in a quiet home. As I had mentioned before, I can be somewhat of an introvert. Don't get me wrong, I get along well with people and other dogs, it's just that I am more comfortable in calm environments.

There are a few more things you should know about me. I am a really good girl! My friends here are so impressed with how well-behaved I am. I walk very nicely on a leash, I'm very quiet, and I play nicely. I'm not a super high-energy dog, but I enjoy having some space to run around. When I get really excited, I'll run around in a big circle and then leap into your lap. It's pretty cute!

If you think that I would make a great companion for you, please don't hesitate to contact CageFree and tell them you have to meet me. I can't wait to go to my new home where I am loved and cared for like I deserve. I have so much love to give my new family!
