My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Barney is a sweet, senior beagle. He was rescued from a local shelter 4 years ago as a beat up 10 y/o boy who was heart worm positive. He has been living the good life since then, but has recently lost his home to an over seas transfer of his owner. Barney is a lively 13-inch beagle who has gotten quite round as a spoiled pet, but should do well with exercise and a diet!

Barney gets along with the two senior beagles in his foster home. Barney knows a few of the simple commands and quickly learned the routine in his foster home. He would do best in a home with a dog door. He uses a pee pad at the door when his family is at work. Barney can be vocal when food or a walk are in his immediate future, but is generally quiet. He is often found on his dog bed having a snooze!

He isn't fond of getting on the furniture and hasn't shown any destructive behavior. He is just now starting to show an interest in his toys. It has been a month since he lost his friend so may just now understand that things have changed for him again

As a senior, we did check to make sure all his blood work was normal and he has had a good dental cleaning. He is ready to start on the next chapter of his life. Barney is a sweetheart and deserves a home to spend the rest of his days in the style he has become use to! Barney, with his laid back personality, will make some family a wonderful companion.
