My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our Rocky is a jovial little fellow, who has retained his bright outlook on life despite one of the worst betrayals in our recent Rescue history. Story has it that his beloved owner had a catastrophic illness that required extended Rehab in a medical facility. During that difficult time, his sketchy spouse dumped this plucky little Senior into a large City Pound, where he quickly caught a bug and was put on the euthanasia list.

We invited Rocky to our rescue and our Vet treated him for an upper respiratory infection. Poor Rocky was unable to kick the bug a hundred percent, due to a preexisting dental infection that had lowered his immune system. We were able to get Rocky well enough for dental surgery and once his infected teeth were extracted, he perked right up. Now he is 100% and is rarin' to go to his new home.

Rocky is a petite, senior 8 to 9 year old Miniature Pinscher, and at just 8 pounds, he is the perfect lap dog. He is a gentle, sweet soul with a calm, loving temperment. Rocky would do well in a quiet home, with seniors, laid back adults, or a Min Pin Savvy family. He is very tolerant of kids, although would be overwhelmed with raucous kid play or rough handling. Rocky loves attention, is very affectionate, but prefers a quiet atmosphere. Luckily, his foster mom, Kerry, stepped up to offer him just such an environment, and in her loving care, Rocky has blossomed. He gets along famously with her two adopted EOL Min Pins, Aiden and Rudy.

Rocky is the ideal companion dog and can easily join a small multi-dog, or feline home, with well behaved housemates. He is still quite active, still runs like a puppy, but doesn't need the vigorous exercise that some high-energy Min Pins need. Rocky is happy to run a few laps around the yard and then come in and snuggle up for his afternoon nap.

Rocky is in great health. We have taken the guesswork out of adopting a senior dog by doing a full dental procedure and senior bloodwork. His blood work was all within normal limits, and his dental procedure went smoothly, although he lost a couple of teeth. Rocky is neutered, and has been vaccinated for Rabies, DHLPPC (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo, parainfluenza and coronavirus), He has been boostered as needed. He has had the 4dx test: negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. He has been dewormed, and microchipped.
