Freckles is the ultimate family dog -- she just needs the ultimate family!! Have kids? She lets her foster family's kids crawl all over and has never once even given so much as a warning growl. Want what she has? No problem, she's happy to let go, whether it's a toy or food. Appreciate a good snuggle? Her favorite time of day is bedtime where she jumps up in bed and lays her head on your shoulder! Freckles just wants to be right where you are and loved.

But she's no couch potato! Freckles came to our group after she had a litter of puppies that were all adopted and now we're looking for that special person or family who believes in saving the Best for Last. She's past the crazy-puppy stage and smart enough to listen. She loves to be held, loves to learn and also loves to run and play. She'd make a great running or biking partner, and could even enjoy Frisbee. Among dogs, she believes she's Queen so other canine companions will need to let her wear the crown. It's not that she doesn't get along with other dogs, but she is a very rough, physical and vocal player which can put other dogs on the defensive which is why we believe she'll do best as an only dog. She is also a "door-darter" which is why we will require a fully fenced yard. We think Freckles is about 2 years old, she's very healthy and weighs about 65 pounds. We have no idea what her true mix is, but you will definitely want to clone her! If Freckles is the friend for you, please visit www.pinkshelter.org for more information about the adoption process or click here for our online application. Full vetting, microchip and spay included in her $375 adoption fee. Transport fee is additional $150. IF YOU HAVE AOL or YAHOO PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM FILE FOR OUR RESPONSE

About Little Pink Shelter - CT Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

Little Pink Shelter is a registered 501(c)3 charity. All donations are tax-deductible.

When I started The Little Pink Shelter back in 2008, my mission was to help shelter dogs win their fight for a second chance at life; as a breast cancer survivor, I knew all too well the sweetness of that victory. Since founding The Little Pink Shelter, I have placed over 2,700+ dogs and puppies into loving homes.

The Little Pink Shelter is considered more of a "boutique" rescue, focusing solely on making an adoption successful. Working closely with select shelters and rescues in Arkansas where the pet overpopulation continues to be out of control, my colleagues and I are careful to temperament test each dog so we can understand the type of home to which it will be best-suited.

Too many wonderful dogs are put down each week because of lack of space, lack of funding and a widespread disregard for spaying/neutering and responsible ownership. The plight of these dogs and the quest to find each one a loving home is what fuels us every day.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We do not have a facility in Connecticut, so you can only visit The Little Pink Shelter on the internet. Our dogs and puppies are usually fostered in the south and the overwhelming majority of them are adopted out before they arrive so they can go right home after transport and begin bonding with their new forever families! Check out the "Love Fests" Albums on our Facebook Fan Page!

We are always in search of short term foster homes up here in Connecticut and the surrounding states!!! If you're not ready for a full 15+ year commitment, or if you have always wanted to help in some way, please consider short-term fostering a dog or puppy for us! Write us for more info!

Our Adoption Process...

The first step in the process is submitting an online application located through a link in each pet's description, or from our website at www.pinkshelter.org under the "How to Adopt" tab. Whenever possible we like to begin review with a vet reference. After that, we will be in touch to set up a lengthy phone interview where each of us has the opportunity to ask all our questions of the other. Home visits are at our discretion. Once approved, there is a contract and transport is arranged if necessary.
