My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Maddie. If you are looking for an absolutely wonderful new family member, Maddie is the guy for you. Maddie is one of the sweetest little guy’s you will ever meet. Maddie was found in the NC Mountains, after a blizzard. He was so matted you couldn’t tell he was a dog until he moved. It took 2 ½ hours under anesthesia for the vet to cut away all of the mats. But that never took away this sweet boy’s desire to survive and love. Animals are amazing and Maddie is a particularly great example of their resilience and ability to love.
Maddie is a ShihPoo that weighs 10lbs and is believed to be 4-5 years old. He loves to cuddle on the sofa with his person and play with squeaky toys. He is great on a leash and he is doing really well with his house training. Maddie loves wandering around in the fenced yard and gets SO excited whenever the neighbors two children come out to play with him. He is good with other dogs, but would be just fine as an only dog as long as he had someone who was home a lot. Maddie does have a cataract in his right eye that limits his vision in that eye, but it doesn’t slow him down one bit. His foster Mom is also willing to help with the financial costs of getting his cataract removed after he is adopted.
The ultimate home for Maddie would be one with a stay at home adult and no more than one other dog, so he can get all of the love and attention he missed out on earlier in his life. If you would like to be considered to adopt Maddie, please contact Lynn at scoobytzu@bellsouth.net. A completed adoption application, reference check, home visit and adoption donation are required. Due to limited resources, a strong preference will be given to homes within 75 miles of Charlotte, NC. Please do not request a phone call until after an application has been submitted. Please be patient as I work a fulltime job.
