Hello! My name is Dobbie and I can't wait to meet you! I'm a very handsome dark-eyed white ferret and make a lot of the other ferrets here at the refuge jealous. haha!

A little about me...I came from a very loving home where my humans took wonderful care of me and I was raw fed. Unfortunately, they decided to build a fancy new house and I wasn't able to move in with them. I was brought here to this awesome place called Five Points Ferret Refuge where everyone has been super nice but me and my brother Jenks (who I just can't live without) are ready to relocate to our furever home.

I'm a very personable, gentle, people lovin', kiss givin', big old sweety and would make a great addition to the perfect family. I am deaf but it doesn't stop me from being awesome! I'm also used to eating fine ground raw food so I'd prefer to go with someone who has experience with ferrets and special parents who are willing to continue my diet.

I'm up to date on my vaccines, neutered, and all packed! See you soon!

About Five Points Ferret Refuge

About Our Shelter...

We started rescue several years ago, when looking for a pet for our family and finding so many unwanted ferrets in a city the size of Indianapolis. With our children grown, we have the room in our home and more time to devote to these special little creatures, and their antics and affection give us great joy.
We accept ferrets from families who can no longer take care of them for a variety of reasons as well as strays and run-aways. We try to find their families before placing them for adoption. We try to adopt out all young healthy fuzzies, but some stay with us for the rest of their lives and we care for and love them like our own.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Annually, we host "The Ferret 500" in Indianapolis, a ferret show sanctioned by The American Ferret Association.Ferrets come from all over the US to compete for ribbons, awards and points. We recently had a booth at our local IVEC Pet Carnival in Indianapolis.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process starts with applicant submitting a completed application (available on our website). We review the application, verify references and then contact applicant to set up an appointment to meet the available pets. They come to our home, where the shelter is currently located, then we arrange a convenient time for a home visit, to see where the pet will be living, give suggestions for ferret proofing and answer safety questions. When that part of the process is complete, we will make our final decision and they can pick up their new family member. We may take the pet with us for the home visit for those who are a distance away. There is an adoption contract to sign and a $75 for single $125 for a bonded pair adoption fee.The pet(s) will be accompanied by their current vet and shot records, informational paperwork about ferret care from us, a "Ferrets for Dummies" book and a packet of their current food.
