Facts about Betsy

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Black & White Or Tuxedo
  • Age: Senior
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Short
Betsy is a full-figured, very loving approximately 11 year old gal. She adores being patted and loved up, and reeeeally likes being brushed too. She likes to be held and will often crawl up your chest and wrap her arms around your neck. She will greet you when you see her or if you ask her something but normally she is a very polite quiet cat. She likes to use vertical surfaces for scratching and is fairly ok about using her scratch post, though she does need to be reminded sometimes. This is a truly plush cat. Look at that fur! Betsy loves to play and leap after ribbons, so we are hoping this exercise will burn some of those calories that she could stand to lose! Let us know if you'd like to meet Betsy and be adored by her. Because of her foster home's schedule, Betsy is unable to make it to adoption events. Cause for Paws is a small all-volunteer Minnesota nonprofit 501 (c) (3) group whose main focus is on finding homes for stray and abandoned cats and kittens. Cause for Paws fosters these cats in our own private homes, we don't have a central facility. Betsy has been Feline leukemia/FIV tested (negative); vaccinated against rabies and distemper good for one year, spayed, microchipped, and as mentioned just had her dental. To find out more about Betsy, please email Cause for Paws at cause4paws@hotmail.com or call us at 952-259-1483. The adoption fee is $130. Thank you.

About Cause for Paws

About Our Rescue Group...

Cause for Paws is a Minnesota nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization founded in 1998. It is a small all-volunteer group of friends who love cats and want to make a difference for cats in our community. The small group's main focus is helping stray and abandoned cats and kittens find loving, permanent homes. Cats are fostered in volunteers' homes; there is no shelter facility. The goal of every Cause for Paws adoption is a home where the cat and the other family members -- both two-legged and four-legged -- will thrive. Prior to adoption, all cats are examined by a veterinarian,
Felv/fiv tested, vaccinated (including rabies and distemper),
spayed or neutered, microchipped and registered, fostered in a volunteer foster home to determine the kitty’s personality, and received treatment for flea/parasite prevention. As funds allow, Cause for Paws also provides spay/neuter assistance for owned cats in the community, through its Cause for Paws Spay/Neuter Subsidy Program. The work of Cause for Paws is funded entirely by donations.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Cause for Paws hosts adoption events at the Petcos in Highland and Roseville. We also have cats available for viewing at the Petco store in Roseville in their in-house adoption kennels. If someone is interested in seeing one of our cats, arrangements can be made to meet this cat at a time other than our scheduled adoption events. Our adoption events are typically held on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please see our website for specific dates and locations.

Our Adoption Process...

The adoption fee for a Cause for Paws cat is $130. There is an adoption application that is completed and reviewed prior to the adoption. This application will ask for a veterinarian reference and we will check this reference prior to an adoption. The application gives us an opportunity to learn more about the potential adopter and whether or not the cat that they are interested in would be a good match. There is also an adoption contract that is completed at the time of the adoption. Because we are an all-volunteer organization, we typically will respond to an inquiry within 24 to 48 hours.
