Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello! My name is Tucker and I am a sweet beagle boy from NJ that was surrendered to Penny Angels in early April with a huge hematoma on my left ear. The second photo shows how my ear looked when I arrived in Rescue. I’m not sure what caused the hematoma, but it occurred when a blood vessel in the flap of my ear ruptured, causing blood to collect in the loose space under the skin of my ear. It sounded scary and did not look pretty. Even the veterinarian said she hadn’t seen a hematoma that big! It was painful, too, but you couldn’t tell by my calm demeanor when I arrived at Penny Angels. The veterinarian at first tried to have the hematoma drained and bandaged, but unfortunately it filled up again. The second time, the veterinarian performed a surgical procedure where she made an incision in the skin on the underside of my ear, drained the blood, and placed several sutures in my ear to try to prevent the hematoma from returning again. I feel so much better now, but I will never have a normal-looking ear. That’s okay, though, because I have the sweetest personality and that is what matters in the end! I am about 5 yrs. old and weigh 35 lbs. I am housetrained, too, and using the doggie door in Rescue when I have to go potty.
I get along fine with other dogs and will make a nice addition to your family! I will be at Petsmart on Saturday, so if you are interested in meeting a great boy with a wonderful disposition, please fill out an application and submit it to Penny Angels today!
