Kai-Lee's Story...
If you are at least 18 years old and everyone in your household is on board with adopting a puppy, CALL 651-645-4370 and we will return your call within 24 hours. If you elect to contact us via e-mail it may take several weeks for us to get back to you. Renters must provide proof that you are allowed to have a puppy.

Kai-Lee, we believe is a Norwich Terrier/Corgi X, who is about 13 weeks old. She now weighs 11# and will likely weigh about 30# as an adult. Her adopter should be prepared to love her if she is smaller or larger than anticipated. We estimate adult weight based on age and since we are guessing at her DOB, we could be a bit off.

This little girl was picked up as a stray on the vast Standing Rock Indian Reservation in South Dakota and was transferred to PUP to find a permanent loving home.

In her foster home she has been socializing with other dogs and people. She definitely has a dominant streak and will likely try to be in charge if paired with another dog. She is doing an outstanding job of housebreaking. She will keep her pen clean and dry if taken out every 3-4 hours. She gets her business done as soon as she goes out. She walks quite well on a leash and regularly goes on walks around the block with the neighbors.

The first 4 months are when puppy learns the social skills needed to be a skilled dog in dealing with other dogs and a good citizen in the human world. Her adopter should be committed to getting puppy into lots of new and different human social situations, hearing vacuums, trucks, and rattling garbage cans, meeting people who are clapping, laughing, with hats, tools, bikes and skate boards. AND puppy needs many opportunities to meet and greet dogs of all shapes, sizes and dispositions. Since Kai-Lee is on the dominant side, this is essential. Just sharing a home with another dog is not as much doggie socializing as puppy needs. If good canine social skills are not learned and maintained during these early months, it will be very difficult to ever master them. Puppy play dates, trips to the pet store, puppy socialization classes and later, obedience classes and trips to the off leash park are ideal learning opportunities. If all this doggie time and involvement seems like a good idea, you are up for a puppy! As always, a tired dog is a good dog.

Kai-Lee has been vet checked, wormed and had her first vaccinations including rabies. She will need two more routine vaccinations at the owner’s expense. Her adoption fee of $300 includes the cost of her spay if it is done by the PUP vet. PUP does place dogs outside the metro area but a firm plan must be in place for her spay. We do not ship.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kai-Lee, a Saint Paul Norwich Terrier/Corgi puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Norwich Terrier/Corgi for sale in Saint Paul, or seeking a Norwich Terrier/Corgi puppy from a breeder in Saint Paul.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Saint Paul already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Saint Paul breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Norwich Terrier/Corgi breeders who help with Norwich Terrier/Corgi rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Saint Paul paves the way for another one to be saved.
