Ronin's Story...
Ronin is an adult male (born approx 4.15.10) Akita mix. He is up to date on vaccines, on flea/heartworm prevention, microchipped, house trained, crate trained, and leash trained.

This poor boy has had a ROUGH life so far. He was found running stray in North Carolina. He has scars all over his face and legs suggesting that he has fought with other animals, his ears are battered, he had several tick-borne diseases, he has what appears to be birdshot and wire embedded in his shoulder, and heartworms. Whew! Through all of that, this sweet boy still loves people, ignores other animals, and just wants love (and tennis balls).

We feel he would be best in a home without other dogs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ronin, a Virginia Beach Akita/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Akita/Border Collie for sale in Virginia Beach, or seeking a Akita/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Virginia Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Virginia Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Virginia Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Akita/Border Collie breeders who help with Akita/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Virginia Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
