Kemp's favorite thing to do is hang out with his human buddies. Wherever you are, he wants to be. When you sit down he will snuggle up right next to you and just enjoy your company.
Kemp also loves going on walks and does a great job keeping up. He is leash trained and doesn't pull.
Kemp also loves a romp through the yard, hanging out while you mow the lawn, plant flowers, pull weeds, harvest your vegetables, and watch the sun set or rise.
At night when you go to bed he will snuggle under the blankets next to you and keep you warm.
When he wags his tail and comes to greet you when come home you'll love his joy in seeing you again.
Because of Kemp's devotion to his human, he is fine being the only dog.
Kemp is crate trained and is fine hanging out there if you need to run an errand.
He is a very devoted little guy. He'll be your best friend always.

About Community Animal Welfare Society

About Our Rescue Group...

Founded in 1992 the Community Animal Welfare Society ( CAWS) is one of the oldest no-kill animal rescues in Utah. Over the last 20 years CAWS, our fosters and supporters have saved thousands of lives including over 600 last this year. As the largest foster home network in the state of Utah we focus on high risk pets in need of additional care and rehabilitation

Come Meet Our Pets...

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.

Our Adoption Process...

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at, email or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.
