My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This gorgeous young lady is Wilma, a 2 year old German shepherd that is hoping that her life will be good from now on. Poor Wilma came to us from our Newark facility after she was found as a stray in bad shape. Wilma was the victim of a hit and run on the streets of Newark. Thankfully, he injuries were not too serious and she only suffered some lacerations. The medical department in our Newark facility treated Wilma and got her back on her feet, now she is with us in AHS Lacey to begin her search for a home where she will be safe and loved forever. Wilma has some trust issues with new people at first but once she meets you a time or two, she bonds quickly with you. She will take some time to get to know you and relax but after you become friends, she is happy to let her hair down, run, play, and throw around toys like a puppy. Wilma is a total goofball in our exercise yard and outside of it on a leash, she is very well behaved and polite. She sits nicely when asked and listens very well. Wilma is a little grabby with taking treats but she learns manners quickly. She will need a home with no small children due to her trust issues. She gets along with other larger dogs but is dominant with them. An experienced German shepherd family would have many years of joy and happiness if they welcome Wilma into their hearts and home.
