Let me tell you about this wonderful sweet bird. Wow is she full of personality! She’s very quiet as far as Moluccan cockatoos go but can get very animated at times & act like she’s telling you a magnificent story! Her crest is a beautiful salmon color and her body is a pale pink with a slight yellow under her wings.
She doesn’t see well so slow steady movements are best not to frighten her. She has out-turned toes so she doesn’t perch well either. She prefers to be held close to your body as she feels unsteady when she’s held. Her cage has been redone to accommodate her mild handicaps.
She prefers to look out of a window & have a constant temp of 75-80. She doesn’t like to be covered & needs about 12 hrs. of sleep. She’d do best with 2 cages, a night time one in a quiet place & one with family during the day. She warms up slowly but she does warm up. She’d do best in a home without children as she was owned by a single older woman for all of her life and she doesn’t care for a lot of “bustle” & noise.
She would do best with someone who is very experienced with cockatoos and someone very patient. She’s been well loved and has never even attempted to bite anyone here. She’ll make the right person a wonderful life companion. She will probably live at least another 40+ years. Please keep this in mind when considering adoption.

About Because Animals Matter

About Our Rescue Group...

BAM is a nonprofit, animal welfare group dedicated to reducing animal abuse and neglect through education. We also help support our local shelters by taking animals into foster care. BAM does not have a shelter or public facility. All of our animals stay in homes of caring individuals who volunteer their time to help socialize and train them so they are ready for their new families. We are willing to transport our animals any where in the US if the family is the right fit.

Donations can be made made on Facebook and at our web page.

Come Meet Our Pets...

BAM has adoption events every month in S.W. Utah. Watch Facebook and our web page for dates and location. We do not have a facility and all of our pets are lovingly cared for in private foster homes. Arrangements to see the pet you are interested in much be made with the foster parent.

Our Adoption Process...

Adopting a forever friend can be easy. Just call or e-mail and we can make arrangements for a personal visit. Phone lines are open between 9am-4pm, if no one is available be sure to leave a detailed, clear message with name and phone number. Our animals are healthy, up to date on their shots and spayed or neutered. Adoption fees range from $0 to $200. This may differ depending on breed and the age of the dog. Adoption fees cover the costs for spay/neuter, shots and some training provided while the animal is in foster care.
